Duty Contracts: fit for purpose?

On 27 November 2014, the Ministry of Justice made its announcement on procurement of criminal defence services, and launched the tender process. On 23 December, the Court suspended the process pending the outcome of two sets of judicial review proceedings brought by CLSA and LCCSA, and by the Law Society, which were heard on 15-19 January 2015.The outcome of this case is awaited.

While we feel we have made a good case in the judicial review, the outcome of litigation is never certain, and we are therefore continuing with the programme of events.

This event will explain what the Law Society is doing, and why we have brought these proceedings, as well as covering in some detail what the MoJ’s process is, and what you will need to think about if the judicial review is unsuccessful and the tender proceeds
